I've heard people say the Bergen is the prettiest city in the world. I don't know about that for sure, there are so many beautiful places, but Bergen sure is beautiful. Like some of the other cities in Norway that get the cruise ships coming in, it can be really crowded when everyone comes to shore. But at night they leave and the city is nice and empty just the way we like it. We took a Funicular up to a viewpoint which is something like what we did in Italy with Christina. Bergen is a really large city and that becomes more obvious from the view of it at the top of the Funicular. The photos of Norway just can't capture the awesomeness that you get when you are there in real life. Even if I had a really expensive big camera, the photos just can't do justice. We did buy 2 souvenirs on the trip in this town, a troll and a pewter bowl. Trolls are a big tradition in Norway and Steve remembers them from his mission.

One of the streets where shops are located. The further off the main street you go, the cheaper the same identical souvenirs are. |

We bought our troll and pewter bowl from the shop that also had the nice kitty named "Tarzan". |

Another cute side street in old town Bergen. This photo doesn't show the crookedness of the buildings, but they are not all very perpendicular to the ground. |

The car is now a modern one to go up the Funicular. |

The view to the south Bergen. Up at the top here there are many hiking trails, a playground and a nice restaurant. |

The playground with a giant troll. I bet it scares almost all the kids. |

Going back down now. |
