THE NAEROYFJORD AND THE AURLANDSFJORD
We took a ferry/passenger boat along the two UNESCO Heritage fjords off of the big Songefjord.  This was a really fun trip although it didn't look so good to start out with because it was pouring rain.  I am glad we made it a round trip from Flam to Gudgvangen and back because for the second half the rain had cleared and it was nice.  My pictures just can't capture how beautiful this country is.

I don't have the umlauts on the names of the Norwegian town.  Flam sounds like Flum.

That is that same big cruise ship we saw in several other towns.

These guys followed the boat hoping for handouts.

They had 4 of these blue lighted bubbles at about at each 1/4 of the distance. 

Back to our campground cabin on our last night out in the fjord area.

The next day we drove back to Oslo, it rained the entire day.  We flew home the following day.

That sums it up, we had a great trip.  But then Steve and I always have a good time no matter where we are!

DRIVE FROM BERGEN ALONG THE SOGNEFJORD TO DRAGSVIK
We planned our route on the map and used the GPS to set our nights destination.  The GPS unit took us a different route than I had planned and I caught it in time to make an alternate route to go back to where we could pick up the planned route.  It turned out great because we saw some really nice country on the "detour".  One place we had to wait for quite a long time due to road construction.  The entire road was blocked with a machine that makes cement guard rails to follow the contour of the road.  Interesting but it sure is slow.  But we had all day and we knew we would be able to get to our hotel in time.  The place we reserved had a minor problem with the previous guests wanting to stay longer so they offered a free upgrade to a little private cabin instead.  Sure we didn't mind!  It was lovely.

I think they watch for salmon running in them?

We got stopped here for about an hour I think.

but fills the entire road and there are no alternate routes any where close by.

Too bad the drive way to the left didn't connect back up to the road, it was a dead end to that house.

Many of the roads are small like this one.

After getting to the end of the small fjord detour we got out and had a little break.

Lovely farms and towns all along the fjords with great big mountains behind them.

This is our lovely little cabin by the fjord that they offered because the hotel guests wanted to stay longer in the room we reserved.

From here we drove a short distance to Laerdal where we stay in a campground that also has cabins.
